Rustic elegance is the best way to describe this piece! Painted in Shackteau Interiors Magnolia Pier milk paint, this blanket chest is weathered and perfectly imperfect. Though we aren't able to date it, it's safe to say that it's solid wood and vintage, if not antique. 
It appears to have been built by hand and is reasonably heavy for its size. The milk paint has warm, rich tones of taupe and gray that play off of the wood grain that peeks through in some places. It has been sealed with wax to preserve its authentic look. Each side of the chest has a large handle for easy transport. 
The inside of the chest is beautiful and has been revived with hemp oil. We can only imagine the stories that this piece could tell! The chest has lots of charm that we opted to leave intact. It would make a great coffee table, foot locker, or blanket chest.
