This unique Lane cedar chest was manufactured in 1959. It has been painted a beautiful, bright, neutral called White Ash by Farmhouse Paint. The original base has been removed and replaced with gold metal legs to modernize the overall look. New trim has been added to the front to maintain the look of faux drawers and cabinet doors in the center.

The original knobs have been sprayed gold, and new (repurposed) pulls were added to the middle of the chest to replace the original hardware. The top of the chest has a lovely curved design to it. Upon opening the top, there is a shelf for extra storage. It can be removed if desired. The shelf has been lined with a white and gold print to coordinate with the outside of the chest. Original Lane paperwork and a set of keys accompany this pretty cedar chest when you open the top.

The entire piece is sealed in a satin polyurethane. The inside of the chest has been refreshed with cedar oil to reinvigorate the scent. The lock is intact, however; the latch mechanism has been removed for child safety reasons. Please note that the back of the chest is unpainted and is original cedar wood.

Imagine this chest at the foot of a bed, underneath a window, or in a nook where you might need some extra storage and a pretty piece of furniture! Measures 47" wide, 18¼" deep, and 21" high. Available for pickup in Windham, Maine.
