This stunningly detailed cedar-lined chest has been painted in Poseidon- a deep, moody blue/green reminiscent of the deepest depths of the ocean. Manufactured by the Syracuse Cabinet Co. of North Manchester, Indiana, our guess is that this handsome piece was manufactured sometime around the 1940s, though it may have been earlier. The carved details and gorgeous feet are in excellent condition for its age. The lock remains intact, though the latch has been removed for safety. The feet have been stained in a deep coffee color while the hardware has been cleaned and/or updated to a bright gold- the perfect contrast against the dark paint. Measuring 45.5" wide, 21" deep and 26" tall at the highest point, this chest offers a great amount of storage. The cedar lining is in very good condition. Picture this handsome devil at the foot of a bed, in an entry way to a mudroom, or even as a focal point in a living room with some leather couches or chairs.
