This vintage maple dresser came from a family home off of Vinalhaven, Maine. Though there is no maker mark, this well-made piece holds a long history. Previously covered in layers of flaking yellow, green, and white paint, it was stripped and sanded entirely. The sides of the dresser were warped from what appeared to be significant water or moisture damage and weren't salvageable in their current condition. To remedy this, the dresser top was removed, and each side of the dresser was cut out and replaced with brand new, fresh maple wood. 
The drawers were also in rough shape. Several repairs needed to be completed, including new drawer bottoms and regluing the dovetailed joinery. Upon reassembling the dresser, the entire piece was sealed in a water-based satin polyurethane to protect the beautiful grain.
The drawers have been lined with a black and white geometric print. Each drawer has been refreshed with a lightly scented lemon furniture tonic to add moisture back into the wood. The drawers have all been waxed to help them glide more easily. New drawer stops were added on three of the four drawers. Brand new black knobs and black keyhole covers complete the look of this unique and beautiful dresser. The caster wheels are easily removable if desired.
This piece truly is one-of-a-kind and was a labor of love. It would be beautiful in any space, especially paired with other light wood pieces. The maple grain is a must-see in person. Available for pickup in Windham, Maine, near the high school. Please see detailed measurements below:
