This stunning 6-drawer antique pine dresser was previously caked in layers of paint and had also been stained at one time. After many rounds of paint stripping, the dresser underwent lots of sanding to remove the old finish. This process included copious amounts of detailed sanding to get in between the Eastlake-style details on the drawers and down the sides. 
 
Next, it was time for a good cleaning and repairs. The dresser was missing several glides and side support rails that hold the drawers in place. New pieces were cut, glued, and installed, and it was time to focus on the finish. Half of the brass keyhole inserts were missing, so I replaced them all with new cast brass inserts. The entire dresser was sealed in a satin polyurethane and given a light coat of white wax to obtain the "scrubbed pine" look that is so highly sought after. 
 
All of the drawers were refreshed with an unscented wood tonic and waxed so that they open and close with ease. The drawers were lined with a pretty floral print with colors that feel appropriate to the time period of the dresser (late 1800s). The drawers all boast lovely pin and cove joinery, a nod to the craftsmanship of the piece. The look was completed with new wooden knobs finished in the same look as the dresser.
 
In my experience, tall pine dressers are a rarity, and this one is also quite wide! Offering plenty of storage and a timeless look that is filled with charm, this dresser is ready for your home. Available for pickup in Windham, Maine, near the high school. Please see detailed measurements below.
