This gorgeous solid walnut washstand cabinet has been given a second chance at life! Though the overall design is simple, the sides boast lovely carved details. When it came to me, the door to the cabinet had split off, and the wood was worse for the wear. After sanding down the entire piece, it got a very thorough cleaning. I used a mahogany wood stain to revive the beautiful wood grain.
Originally, the washstand was very low to the ground and was on small casters, some of which were missing. I added new bun feet for a little more height and matched the feet to the tone of the cabinet.
New antique bronze knobs match the new white and gold geometric print inside of the drawers, which glide with ease. A magnetic closure keeps the cubby space closed nicely, and the wood inside of the cubby has been refreshed with an unscented furniture tonic.
The entire piece has been sealed with a satin polyurethane for extra durability and a bit of sheen. This piece is incredibly well built and has great storage. The two smaller drawers on the left-hand side are quite deep! This piece would be excellent in an entryway or a space where you need a little extra something - and it's much wider than most washstand cabinets.
