This lovely antique solid oak washstand has been sanded down to raw wood. It was given a light paintwash to even out the wood tones, and it has been sealed with a satin polyurethane to preserve and protect it. The drawers are made with beautiful dovetail joinery, and they open and close well for their age. The top has a pretty scalloped design, adding a bit of softness to the look.
The insides of the drawers have been refreshed with an unscented furniture tonic to add moisture back into the wood. The drawers and cubby have been lined with a black and white geometric print.
The original Eastlake-style bail pulls have been painted in oil-rubbed bronze, and knobs in a matching tone adorn the doors to the cubby space and one drawer (this design is original to the washstand). The doors open and close well for a piece of this age, and the original stoppers work well to keep the doors in place once closed.
This petite-sized washstand cabinet offers great extra storage! It would be fantastic in any space due to the neutral color scheme. Don't miss out on this sweet, solid oak cabinet! Available for pickup in Windham, Maine, near the high school.
