🤎 This gorgeous antique pine blanket chest was worse for the wear when I discovered it at an estate sale. A family pet had chewed on all of the top trim, rendering it unsalvageable. After removing the damaged trim, the entire chest was sanded down to raw wood, including the inside of the chest. New trim was cut and installed, along with a chain to keep the top in place when open. The new trim was given a paint wash to blend it with the original wood, and the entire piece was sealed in satin polyurethane.
🤎 The inside of the chest is clean and has a small storage compartment on the left-hand side with a lid that swings on a hinge. The inside of the chest has been refreshed with a lightly scented lemon verbena furniture tonic. The outside of the chest features beautiful dovetailed corners, plus tons of original charm.
