This beautiful antique blanket chest was crafted from solid wood. It features dovetail joinery and loads of character! Sanded down to raw wood, the chest has been thoroughly cleaned and sealed with a water-based satin polyurethane for a natural looking finish with added protection. The original lock remains intact, but the latch has been removed for safety reasons. 
 
The inside of the blanket chest has been refreshed with an unscented wood tonic which helps to add moisture back to the wood. A chain has been added inside of the lid to help keep it propped when open. There is a small storage compartment inside of the chest in addition to the large storage space. Please note, there is a crack along the center of the bottom that does not affect the functionality. The back side of the blanket chest has also been refinished in the same style, so that it does not need to go flush against a wall.
 
This incredible piece of furniture would make a great coffee table or could be used as extra storage - think the foot of a bed, under a window, etc. The neutral wood tones also make it versatile for many spaces.
