The beautiful oak wood grain on this tall dresser was hiding under layers of paint! Painted blue with what appeared to be a previous paint job underneath the blue paint, this solid 5-drawer dresser has been stripped and sanded down to natural oak.

After several rounds of sanding, the dresser got a deep clean and was sealed with a satin polyurethane to preserve the wood grain. The drawers on this piece feature knapp (or pin and cove) joinery, indicating that the dresser was made sometime between 1870 and 1890.

The drawers glide with ease and have been lined with a pretty blue and white splash pattern. The drawers have also been revived with an unscented furniture tonic. The original hardware was repurposed without the backplate and sprayed in an oil-rubbed bronze.

The back side of the dresser had also been fully painted, but the backsplash (top piece) and side rails have been sanded down to remove a bulk of the blue paint. Underneath the paint were the words "A.B. Cook Company, Malvern, Arkansas", which was either where the dresser was manufactured or a stamp of the company it belonged to.

This stunning piece is a must-see in person and is sure to make a lovely addition to any space in your home. Available for pickup in Windham, Maine, near the high school. Please see detailed measurements below:
