This beautiful 4-drawer dresser has a serpentine top and scalloped top drawers. The top and drawers were in bad shape, with missing veneer, missing hardware, and lots of dents on the drawer fronts. The top had been badly worn and had lots of staining on it. After removing the veneer from the top two drawers and sanding down the top of the piece, it was time for additional repairs. The larger drawers both needed new drawer bottoms along with some added supports to help the drawers open and close more smoothly. Next, the top received a custom paint wash, and the body was painted in Antique Black by Melange Paints. Antique Black is an off-black nuanced by rich earthy base tones. 
 
The drawers were lined with a modern black and white print and refreshed with an unscented furniture tonic. Hardware salvaged from another piece worked beautifully on this dresser. The pulls and knobs have been sprayed in antique brass tone, which complements the paint color perfectly. The dovetailed drawers glide with ease now. The entire piece has been sealed in a water-based satin polyurethane for extra protection and a hint of shine. 
 
This piece is wider than it is tall, but it offers great storage. The bottom of the dresser is flanked with a beaded detail, which is original to the piece, and it gives a bit of a modern vibe to the dresser along with the addition of the paint. It would be a lovely addition to any space!
