This beautiful oak dresser was made between the late 1800s and the early 1900s, as evidenced by the pin and cove (or Knapp) joints. We sanded down the top to reveal the original, gorgeous oak grain and painted the body and drawers in Aubergine- a rich, deep eggplant purple by Dixie Belle Paint Company. Updated champagne gold pulls and keyhole covers give this piece a modern elegance. The outsides and insides of the drawers have been sanded down and refreshed with an unscented furniture tonic (inside) and an unscented wax (outside) to help revive the wood. The wax helps the drawers glide evenly and smoothly. The entire piece has been sealed with a satin polyurethane, giving the purple more of a navy undertone in certain lighting.
